How do you organize a reunion at your creative family beach vacation?

When you organize a reunion, the first thing to remember is that time is one of the main advantages on your side. Give yourself as much time as possible to get ready, and plan the perfect event. Consider one month an ideal minimum. Of course, if you have more time, you can plan the event in greater detail.

Learn to Delegate
The next step to remember when you organize a reunion is to not be a "Superman"...delegate. Nobody can do everything all the time, so get some family and friends together to help you out. Having family and friends help out also makes it much more enjoyable for everyone involved.

Plan a Theme
To organize a reunion, the next step is to plan a theme, and you basically already have your major theme...a reunion. Given this fact, you can add a "sub-theme" to spice it up a bit. How about an Hawaiian Party? Or a 50's Sock Hop? The skies the limit, restricted only by your imagination, and the facilities available at your beach location.

Plan Early
Solidify the major aspects of the reunion as early as you can. Where will it be held? At the hotel or another beach location? What about the food? Will you each be bringing a dish, or will it be a catered event? Once you have the major pieces of the puzzle in place, you can fine-tune the details.

Music Selection
Don't forget to set the mood of the party. Music is often a great addition. It can be played in the background, setting the mood for the event, and at the same time, allowing people to talk and socialize. You don't need anything fancy, just a nice selection of appropriate music on a CD and a CD player, or an iPod with your random selections.

Invite Early
Give your guests plenty of time to receive your invitation, determine if their schedule is free, and then respond to your offer. If your reunion party is local, you need to give at least a week. If the guests will need to fly in, and make hotel accommodations, then you should give them at least a month.

On the Day Thereof...
On the day of the party, a good tip is to have less than the required number of chairs laid out for the guests. If there are limited chairs, people will be more inclined to socialize. This will help out those "shy guests" who tend to sit in chairs and become a backdrop to the activities.

Alcohol?
One thing you should keep in mind is that if you plan to have alcohol, some people may not know their limit, or care to follow it. Make sure you have people who are willing to drive them back to their accommodation, or the phone number to a good taxi service.
