Island Inn - Your Ocracoke "Home Away from Home"
Welcome to the "Island Inn". We love this place. "Cee", the lady who not only took our reservation weeks earlier, but handed us the keys to our unit, was very friendly and helpful.
Here's a wide shot of the "Island Inn" from the upstairs patiio of our unit...with the pool clearly visible.

Our unit was clean and well-maintained. Here is a photo of the living room area. They have units available to suit specific needs and tastes, but we must say, our unit was wonderful...
There were two TV's, one upstairs and one downstairs (if you care to keep in touch with the outside world), but also board games available for some special family time. Oh, and we found a great little book about "Blackbeard the Pirate" in the rack below the guest register for those interested in this area of Ocracoke history.
A little something for everyone... :)

Oh, something else we should add. There is a "Washer/Dryer"...very rare it seems in Ocracoke Accommodation. You know the ritual...go to the beach, come home with clothes dripping with sand and "stuff", and no place to wash them other than the sink or tub. Well, problem solved at the "Island Inn". This was a great addition to our vacation.

Don't forget the "lighthouse" motif. Everything in our unit seemed to flow with lighthouses. Lighthouse dishes (shown below), lighthouse wall plaques, lighthouse bedsheets, lighthouse towels, etc. Very coordinated, and keeping with the theme of Ocracoke "happiness".

We mentioned the lighthouse towels above, so we thought we would show you a photo to prove it... :)

The upstairs bedroom was clean and cozy, and had doors that opened to the upstairs patio. We loved the patio...great little place to have breakfast and plan your day.

The bed was very comfortable, and as you can see in the picture below, in keeping with the lighthouse theme...

Oh, in closing, let me mention one of the features of this unit that we liked the most...the jacuzzi. It was a great relief to know that after a hard day of "having fun" you could relax in a bath of jets of hot water. Ahhhhhhhhhhh........

Our conclusion: The "Island Inn" is definitely "our" place to stay on Ocracoke Island, and it very well could be yours. You should definitely give them a call...
