Why not add a honeymoon suite to your creative family beach vacations

A honeymoon suite can add one extra perk to your creative family beach vacations. Who says they have to be only for the night of your marriage? Here are some selection tips:

Where is the Room Located
It's very important to note where in the hotel the room is located. If it is near the lobby, or near the elevators, there may be extra noise to endure. You want to make sure that your room is private. Hotels usually have more than one honeymoon suite, so be sure to check all of them. The one they show you may be on the top floor with a private elevator, but when you arrive, you may find the one that they assigned you is totally different.

When is Checkin and Checkout
Every hotel has different policies, so don't assume you know because you stayed at a similar hotel a while back. Suppose you get delayed at the wedding...you want to make sure that you still have your room. And after the wedding night, depending on what you did (the mind wanders), you might want to sleep in. On your wedding you don't want to be charged an extra night because you slept in late. Keep in mind that a later checkout time can be arranged ahead of time.

Is the Room Actually a Suite?
Hotels often have very loose meanings on what a "suite" is. Depending on your interpretation, it might not have multiple baths, a sitting room, extra bedrooms, a balcony, or other features. What if your hotel's interpretations is a room with a large bathroom, and a door that faces the parking lot? You will be tremendously disappointed.

Special Features
What special features does the hotel offer? Some hotels provide perks such as hot tubs, fresh robes, champagne and a rose, chocolates, the list goes on. Make sure that you know exactly what you are getting for the money. You don't want to have to utter the words "but I thought that..." on your wedding night.

Activities
The assumption here is that you will not be in your hotel room for the whole duration of your honeymoon (wink, wink). Convenience is the key...you want to spend time with each other, not having to deal with planning activities and driving to and from locations. Some hotels, depending on the size of the complex, offer shows, restaurants, city tours, etc. Check your hotel to see if you can book a package deal and save some dollars.

The Price
Make sure that you realize what you are going to be paying upfront. Some hotels have the idea that since this is a special occassion for you, money is no object. You don't have to want to deal with this situation. Many couples are surprised at just what it can cost. "But I only want to stay here for the night...not buy the hotel!" can be their thoughts. If you are on a tight budget you can spend the first night at the honeymoon suite, and then move to a more reasonably priced room for the rest of your stay.

Look Before You Buy
One of the best ways to decide is to visit the hotel's website. This is often the most spectacular room that they have to offer, so the proudly trumpet it's features. Even better than this, try to visit the hotel before the big night. The hotel staff will be more than happy to show you around (and garner your business). There is nothing like being there if at all possible.

Add a honeymoon suite and spice up your creative family beach vacations.
