Digital Camera Technology - Record your Creative Family Beach Vacations
Digital camera technology has taken the world by storm. Look around you, the days of film cameras are almost gone...but as this chapter of the book closes, it has hastened in the age of "digital photography". Here are some "old school" and "new school" types of cameras that are the most useful (and appropriate) for your creative family beach vacations.
Disposable
Disposable cameras are sometimes called "single use" cameras. This means that after you take your photos, you return the camera to the lab, they create your print, and the camera is either thrown away, or recycled. The beauty of this type of camera at the beach is that you don't have to worry about the expense of damaging it...it's going to be "gone" at the end of the trip at any rate.
Regular Digital
By "Regular Digital" we are referring to the category of the most common digital camera technology items on the market. They cost about $100, and have many of the features that you will need to create some spectacular beach photographs, without costing a fortune. You might want to invest in a watertight or waterproof housing if you are going to be taking your camera to the beach. At the very least, bring along a clear sandwich bag. Sand and grit can do more to damage a camera than bumps and scrapes.
Camera Phone
Most of us have cellular phones, and many of these have digital cameras built in. They don't always generate the best photographs, but at least you will have a camera handy for those "once in a lifetime" shots.
Video Stills
Did you know that many video cameras have the capability to create still photographs? Well, you do now. Consult the documentation that came with your video camera to be sure. In this way you will have a powerful piece of equipment to create videos and stills in one remarkable little box.
DSLR
If you want to create some spectacular photographs with all the bells and whistles, and money is no object, why not invest in a DSLR. DSLR stands for "Digital Single Lens Reflex", and this means that you look through the actual lens of the camera to create your digital photographs. Many DSLR's come with the option to attach other lenses for special effects, depending upon the photograph you are trying to frame. A fantastic piece of equipment, but be sure to bring your wallet to the store.
These are just a few camera types to help you achieve those spectacular creative family beach vacation photographs.
