Beach crafts are fun, fun, fun!
Beach crafts cater more to your artistic side. When you would like to add a little creativity to your family beach vacation, here are a few ways to get started. Record your Footprints When people want to make chocolates, ceramic figurines, or candles, they start with a mold. The beach provides you with a perfect molding medium for your feet...sand. All you will need is some plaster of paris (available at any hardware store). Mix this with some sea water in a hole until you have the consistency of honey or molasses. Grind your feet into a nice moist section of sand, and pour the plaster of paris mixture inside. It will take up to an hour for the mixture to solidify, but once it is done you will have a nice personalized record of your time at the beach. If you like, you can carve your initials or date in the mixture with a small stick just before it solidifies. Personalized Driftwood If you remembered to bring a magnifying glass with you, you can create a personalized souvenir of your time at the beach with a piece of driftwood. Hopefully the weather will be great, and with the sun shining down you can burn your message into the side of the driftwood. Be sure to be in or near the water in case the fire gets out of hand. Here's a thought...why not create a "I love you" momento for that someone special. Message in a Bottle Why not write a little letter to yourself, put it in a bottle, and throw it into the ocean? With coastal tides, little bottles such as this have been known to travel hundreds of miles from their departure location. Be sure to include a stamped envelope with your address on it...hopefully the person who finds your bottle will return your letter to you with details on where it was found.
